KOJOKROM WATER AND SANITATION PROJECT- TAKORADI -WR

Background of Project
The continuation and completion of sixteen (16) seater Water Closet (W/C) at Kojokrom was funded by the Ghanaman Community Reinvestment Grant (CRG) in 2017. The project duration spans from November, 2016 to October 2017.   With a contract sum of GHC 22, 810.00, the project was supervised by City Wide Settlement Upgrading Fund (NGO) in collaboration with the  Kojokrom Water and Sanitation committee.

BLOOMING AFRICA

GHC 20,900.00

Blooming Africa with funding from Ghanaman Community Reinvestment Trust fund constructed three boreholes for the Papaase No.1 community in the central region which cost GHS20, 900. The project currently is providing drinkable water to about 800 residents who patronize the boreholes and contribute a little money for its maintenance.

OBOOMMA RURAL ACTION PROGRAMME (ORAP)

The Ghanaman Trust funded the construction of a mechanized borehole for the people of Amenam in the New Abirem district in the Eastern region. The mechanization includes overhead poly tanks for storage and distribution of water in the Amenam community. The aim is to provide clean water to the community.

ABEREWA NKO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

Ghanaman Trust provided funds for the construction of a mechanized borehole for the Aberewa Nko Community in the Afram Plains of the Eastern region. The aim of the project is to provide clean and sustainable water to the community and other surrounding communities.

ATIDZIVE TOWN DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

The project is the mechanization of one bore-hole located in the Atidzive Community which supplies water to an elevated Polytank and distributes it through 15 standpipes situated throughout the community. With support from Ghanaman Trust Fund, the Atidzive Water Supply Project has been completed and commissioned. The town currently has access to potable water both for consumption and other domestic use. Currently, 2,500 inhabitants are benefiting from the project. The project was commissioned in 2012.

EDUCATION FOR SELF HELP (ESEH)

In 2010, the Education for Self Help organization (ESEH), an NGO, constructed a pipe-borne water system at Akakpokofe in the Volta Region. A nearby community Abusakofe requested that ESEH extend the facility to them but the request was denied due to a lack of funds. Subsequently, Ghanaman CRG Trust Fund was requested to purchase materials and equipment to extend the pipe-borne water to Abusakofe. The project started in March, 2012 and was commissioned in December, 2012. This has reduced the prevalence of water-borne diseases and improved the health of the people in the Abusakofe community.

SAFE WATER NETWORK

The Trust in a joint initiative with Safe Water Network (an international organization with presence in Ghana) has provided safe, reliable and affordable water to two communities in the Eastern and Ashanti Regions. The communities are Soko in the Afigya Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region and Hunor Dodzie in the Upper Manya Krobo District of the Eastern Region. The potable water will improve the lives of members of the communities and eliminate the water borne diseases that have affected them for a long time.
